NGXPilot spamming NK with porn

    • A couple guys have claimed it's Dolby, who was recently banned again after a forum dust up with HTC - one where HT posted private emails, and a big fight ensued. I'm no big fan of HTC or any company actively engaging in fights on their own forums, especially going out of their way to pick them, or to throw gas instead of water on situations, but that doesn't excuse this recent forum stuff there - if it IS Dolby, which will never be proved I'd wager, as he's likely behind a VPN and has had dummy accounts for a while. A couple guys have said that they know these dummy accounts are Dolby's, but again, I won't throw him under a bus without proof as he was always decent to me. It's just the timing of him being the only guy to get a PNG and ban from the game, and then this stuff happens, plus HTC not taking it down looks like they are up to something legally themselves...who knows.

Read from page 2 onward in this thread, this is what set it off - notice how ROC and others can say things to other players that get the rest of us banned or moderated...huge double standard exists, in addition to the company itself going FAR out of its way to antagonize customers on its forum, something I've kept records of for 6 years now when I see it, and the file is LARGE to say the least. I have no idea why they do this, they would be SO much better off if they just stayed off their forums altogether, or had someone impartial moderate it, or at the very least, not argue constantly with customers in their own yard...I've never seen anything like it with any other gaming company, not once in 20 years of covering them. Not that I'm saying that excuses the current nonsense, but when you piss people off, they can do stupid things...so why piss them off, especially when they give you $? If they say or do something you dislike as an owner, just ignore them, I don't understand this need to get in the mud with arguing customers all the time...

If anyone doubts this I'm happy to post my file, or you can just click on "show posts" on HT's name, and read for 1/2 an hour, and you'll see that probably a good 10 to 15 percent - a lot - of his posts are in some way or another interacting in a very negative way with paying clients.

This is really the only negative thing I've ever had to say about HTC - their forum and they way they act on it. Game wise and everything else they do well, and I've stayed around since 1999 for that reason, it's just so baffling to me why they post the things they do, and in the manner they do it. Again, on other game forums, ones FAR larger than HTC, I've never seen this - DCS, Star Citizen, so forth, none of the entities in places like that go far out of their way to get into arguments with their customers...

    • It's doubly sad because he's a talented videomaker. If you watch some of the AH cinematics he's made its clear he's got a great feel and eye for mixing shots and soundtrack. That was the kind of YouTube publicity AH3 needs (once its finally ready to show the world) and it's probably gone now.

Having HiTech participate in the scenario carried some risk I guess, and it's unfortunate that all this came to pass. I'm not excusing Dolby's behavior; he seemed to fit the prima donna role pretty well. I think Gman is spot on with his assessment though - I think its to the game's detriment to have HiTech actively involved in squabbles with players.
    • I helped Dolby by flying in his videos he made for promo-ing AH3, his best/longest vids for AH3 were the 109 ones where he and I were winged up, and then flying h2h on the Russian front with him in Yaks and others in 109s(me and some other guys who volunteered). It was my first real interaction with Dolby, and he was great, very smart, and cared a lot about the game and his vids.

Obviously something happened between him and HTC, and it's unfortunate, I won't blame either of them in this regard as this happens in business all the time. Again loudly and for the record, I repect HTC's ability to make games and their incredible longevity in this business, and HTC was always great in the early days when we wanted an interview or info, and they were very generous as well giving us 3 free accounts back when it was 55$ a month in Canadian money. It's just that I've always, always criticized them for the forum clashes. I will say that since AH3 came out HT has been incredibly fast fixing issues, and has listened to players putting input in on this SO quickly, it's even better than the "good old days". Seriously, HT/HTC has been so great in this regard, I can count 3 or 4 things that I just myself mentioned that he fixed or posted that he was already working on within hours, not days, and that needs to be commended, as I know this is the place where we often just bash them. And again, if it wasn't for the forum issue (in my opinion), I would have nothing but praise for them - and overall, it's something that certainly doesn't make me want to leave, it's just that the forum is THE place where we the players all interact when not flying, so it's hard to ignore it when you see it. I see the whole Dolby incident as something that would have been avoided had HT not posted at all, and just PM'd or emailed him all of that, even though it WAS Dolby who made it public initially, HTC needs to be bigger than that as THEY are the GAME, and just ignore customers who act out. If HTC just chose to not engage, they wouldn't get into the mix so often, and then far more customers wouldn't get angry and leave. I swear to god, I'd bet the farm that more players have left over negative forum interactions with HTC than have EVER left due to "griefers" or "mean political forum posts" and the usual excuses given.

I don't want to end on that note though, as I said, IMO HTC has done a fantastic job working on, jumping on, and fixing things with AH3 as they come up, their work with VR has been out of the park, a home run by any metric, by far the best implementation of VR in any game so far, and I've played dozens for both the Rift and Vive since I got them both.

I am thinking of learning to make vids, it isn't rocket science, there are many vids out there from AH2 that are legendary that Dolby didn't do. Using music and setting up the cuts from scene to scene seem to be what makes a good video great, so I may start messing around with it myself.

    • It wasn't Dolby who posted the anime and regular porn on the forums, it was two little pieces of shit from the defunct squadron 242 Sloppy Terminators, glzsqd (don't recall his in game name) and darkzking (raynos32 in game). These two guys always made it their job to derail any thread they possibly could, they've done this sort of thing in the past. Unfortunately for them they aren't too bright, they left their squadron signatures on their posts and darkzking made a post slamming AH3 just prior to the anime porn spam.

As for Dolby, well, in all honesty is he made his bed and now he has to lay in it. He's been given numerous chances throughout the years but always ends up shooting himself in the foot at the end and gets banned. Is allowed back in the games and forums and in a matter of time shoots himself in the foot again. It wasn't just his forum posts that got him trouble, it was also his behavior in game.
    • Yes, I realize Dobly has had numerous chances, but it doesn't change the fact that HTC does this sort of thing frequently, going out of their way to clash with paying customers. Again, despite all that Dolby did or said, in the game or forums, had HTC chose to not respond, or at least do so privately, they'd be up another 180$ per year just in this one specific case.

Too bad Glssqd chose to act like this, he was actually not a bad guy on the forums and in game, I liked flying around him, never had any issues myself. However, that sort of thing on the forums, not THAT is what HTC should ban people over, not ego and disagreements about game and wishlist issues.

    • Has HiTech ever publicly apologized for being wrong? If so, I've never seen it. However, I have seen him demand apologies from other people in the past.

Geezus people here ignore the fuck out of obvious shit and then expect to be patted on the back for their quippy creativity: Changeup
    • Heh, sort of follows my point, I'm certain you're correct. I hate nothing more than the old "it's their house" arguments - yes obviously it's their house, but if you have people renting rooms, you don't actively try and piss them off, even when they do and say things that piss YOU off, it's best to just keep out of public arguments the rest of your renters can see you get into.

Skuzzy today posted when another player inquired about Dolby's PNG, that it was not his business, and only business between HTC and the banned player. Considering how much HTC says that this game is all about squads and fostering relationships with other players, how in the hell can they then turn around and claim that when they destroy those relationships by banning a player from both the game and forum, thus negating the chance to even talk to the squadmate and/or friend banned, that players shouldn't be asking and wondering about what happened. Insane.

If Skuzzy had told nrshida why Dolby was banned or talked about any other disciplinary actions taken on Dolby with nrshida, that could have opened HTC to being sued by Dolby for revealing private information. I've seen it happen to the company I work for.
    • Ah, that's right, I'd sort of forgotten that angle, you'd mentioned that before about lawsuits vs gaming companies over forum BS. What a world we're in now...Still, HT himself had already revealed private coms between Dolby and himself by posting emails to support his argument.

    • Crazy isn't it. Must be difficult to run a biz online now due to these types of laws, especially since it's all so international now.

More reason to just stand pat even on your own forums.

I'm glad it wasn't Dolby posting those pics, why I said I wouldn't convict him myself initially based on a couple other members hunches. Many he'll return yet again sometime, like the energizer bunny, he just keeps going and going that guy.

Ack, did you get your Razer OSVR set yet? Once we're back home in Calgary around Xmas I'll have mine. Wondering what it's like if you got one.

    • Why would UK laws affect a US business?

You know that website are required to have a popup explaining cookies in Germany? Why the fuck would that mean every other website in the world would have to follow German law?

What about Swastikas? Can't have them in Germany.... does that mean no one can have them?

      Fuck the UK.

I saw Dolby in the game about 30 minutes ago, so he's not banned from the game. He was bitching about his low FPS in DX9 and thinks DX11 looks bad so he won't use it. A touchy douche, is Dolby.
    • Ya, he was the loudest, there was one other, have to go back and read it.

Glad you're still "around" Dolby, I hope you can work it out and come back - again, haha - the game needs you and your vids, after reading a bit and fooling around myself, it's a lot of work, far more than I would have anticipated putting a good vid together. But it isn't just the videos, you're a long time LW pilot in the game, and one of the "dogfighting" crew, the old 12 hour revolt type guy that so many of us were in common cause together over the years.

I'm not 100% on the timing thanks to only being able to lurk the NK BBS and it having queer posting times, but while RagingPineapple and Raynos were posting that crap, I could be found streaming Hearts of Iron IV. Myself and a long time family friend managed a 6 hour stint with 1 stoppage when I walked away for some tea and the game crashed.

Their actions only came to my attention because while on Hoi4 I got sent a picture on FaceBook messenger of shida's locked thread. After the Hoi4 session ended, I went to send Shida an Email, (having got his Email prior to sending him my old PC via courier,) in order to clarify the point that I wasn't PNGd for any backdoor Private Messages, but PNGd for catching HiTech talking bollocks and then rightfully refusing to apologise. Deciding to take a look at his thread in full and then lurking a few of the other boards, I saw a locked thread by "quig" and lurked around a bit more seeing the PNGs. The going onto LCADolby Hotmail I saw in the inbox a message left on one of my youtube vids by RagingPineapple and followed his link, it was easy to do the maths on who's done the spamming. Had it not been for curiosity I wouldn't have came to FW to see the additional chatter. Hell, had I not got sent that picture of Shida's thread I would have been in the dark about the whole episode.

While their timing could easily lead people to suspect me, those tards not only left their squadron tag on their sigs but anyone that even half knows me would realise that, even though I enjoy playing up to the false projection of who I am by others in the game that are truly clueless and being an asshole on the game. There is absolutely no way and zero chance I'd be spiteful enough to go and do something as moronic as that. And those that do believe idiotic propaganda of a clueless and knuckle dragging masses of AcesHigh halfwits that would believe I would go and do something like that are in desperate need of a slap around the face and a reality check themselves.

      On a side note, and Joachim will back me up on this piece of classic comedy;
I join a teamspeak and was flying AcesHigh and one of the participants of the team speak goes and says. "Spek are you Dolby in the game?" I reply before Spek can say anything "no I'm Dolby in the game. I am Dolby, why what did you expect somebody completely unhinged". To which he sounding amazed piped up "no.. I was expecting an asshole". There was more, but that's enough to show what an extent the clueless have embedded a false reputation and reality.

I've seen Hearts of Iron played on a channel I watch. It looks fun, but complicated and seems like it would be better with friends rather than solo. I've never really gotten into those types of games (Stellaris a bit, never Civ) but they look like fun for a change of pace.
    • I quit posting years ago there because if the double standards. I enjoy the game and hope to get back to it soon but the boards are dead to me. And Hitech is an incredible duchbag....
"Counting all the assholes in the room
      I'm definitely not alone"
    • If you look more closely at what HT posted email wise, it was just his words, not Dolby's, so to correct and clarify, HT/HTC didn't post anything private that Dolby wrote, just what they did.

I still hope you can work it out Dolby, regardless of who is at fault, the game is better off with you around it, for sure.
